Given Name: Johann Sebastien
Surname: Klein
Sex: M
Birth: 17 Jun 1716 in Hirschland, Alsace
Death: Mar 1792 in Lincoln County, North Carolina
Burial: 1792 St Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Conover, North Carolina
Immigration: 3 Sep 1739 Philadelphia on the" Robert and Alice"

One Bastian KLEIN emigrated in 1739. No emigration note appears on the
baptismal record for this Johann Sebastian KLEIN. Such a note does
appear, however, on the baptismal record of another Johann Sebastian
KLEIN who died there--in Postroff--on 18 Feb 1723. I believe, therefore,
that the emigration note was intended not for that Johann Sebastian KLEIN
but for this Joh. Sebastian KLEIN.)EIGHTEENTH CENTURY EMIGRANTS FROM THE
NORTHERN ALSACE TO AMERICA shows that KLEIN, Sebastian arrived in America
on the ship Robert and Alice, in 1739 (this would have been 3 Sep 1739).

EUROPEAN RECORDS
Hirschland Lutheran KB: Moritz KLEIN from Steinsal, [NiederstinzelW930
Fenetrange] citizen at Postroff and wife Anna Catharina had eight
children, and all appear to have emigrated to America [See Moritz KLEIN
for additional family data]. One of his sons was: Joh. Sebastian b. 17
Jun 1717, conf. 1730
[There are emigration notations by all the other 7 children in this
family; no note by this baptism. Perhaps this emigration note was entered
in error by the baptism record of another Joh. Sebastian Klein, son of
another emigrant Johannes Klein; this other Sebastian was born in Jan
1723, and died there in Feb 1723.]Proof that Johann Sebastian's parents
were Mauritius Klein and Anna Catharine Martzloff is found in the Church
Book of Hirschland,Alsace, pp. 196 and 198.

problem with his being baptized before his birth. Something's wrong.
Arrived Philadelphia on 3 Sep 1739 on the ship Robert and Alice.
