Texas Tortilla Factory

Film Editing and DVD Productions

November 25, 2007 by mike

Welcome to the Texas Tortilla Factory, and my Film Editing and DVDs Page.

A few years back I had a chance to participate as an Assistant Editor on a major film out of Hollywood. I already had knowledge of Final Cut, and had already edited some film, although admittedly most of the video used was not professional, there were a few that were. I also had produced a few DVDs. Some Professionally and others for Friends and Family. But figured I needed more to secure the Assistant Editing Position I had been offered.

So I pursued, and aquired Certification in Final Cut Pro HD, the film editing application from Apple, at Filmbase, a Film School and Training Facility in Dublin, Ireland.

There is a myriad of illusions why this Hollywood Gig never came to be, but leave to say it did not happen.

Regardles, I have continued to enjoy working with the various app's, and messing around with converting and editing the film/video, and the production of DVDs from time to time.

All of these DVDs contained Film from one source or another which were converted to Digital Video and then edited in Final Cut Pro, and then compressed for DVD format for use with DVD Studio Pro. Some of the DVDs also contain collections of photographs which relate to the particular project, prepiration of photos for Final Cut was completed with Adobe Photoshop CS.

After the videos were converted I then used DVD Studio Pro to design the user interface for the DVD.

Descriptions of all the DVDs below go Here, or click the DVD in the slide for its project description.

Photo DVDs are just that photos that have been setup a slideshow then converted with Quicktime to a Movie. If you have a MAC this can be easily completed with iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD Apple's iLife applications.

After preparing the photos in Adobe Photoshop CS, I brought the photos in to Final Cut Pro and setup the video/movie there and then used DVD Pro to setup the User Interface for the final DVD.

Descriptions of all the DVDs below go Here.
